  • Comprehensive coverage of winter clothing and gear
  • Proven techniques for traveling efficiently and safely across snow and ice and complete directions for building igloos and many other snow shelters
From the National Outdoor Leadership School, the leader in wilderness education, comes the definitive guide on winter camping--based on the official NOLS curriculum, it's the next best thing to taking a course with a qualified instructor. Additionally, sections on avalanche safety and first aid provide essential preparation should disaster strike. Illustrated throughout with detailed line drawings.
