A companion in words
Slade shares her development as a dyslexic writer, spanning over eight years. Her words shed light on the purpose and validity of each emotional state. Through passages of gradual growth, we're taken on a journey to transmute heartbreak and despair into empowerment.
This collection demonstrates the power of reframing thoughts and subsequent realities. It's therapy in a book without the pressure -- unapologetically promoting real-time processing over premature solutions.
'No Promises' inspires self-realisation, crucial in taking responsibility of our lives. It cuts to the bone of feminine rage, all the while, conveying a level of vulnerability readers may find a feeling of solidarity and comfort in.
Slade relates to those of us who've fallen for musicians, strangers on the street, but most curiously, those of us who've fallen in love with language.
