Clare Hutton grew up in Columbia, Maryland, with a dog, two cats, several goldfish, a hermit crab, and an older brother and sister. She now lives with her family in an apartment in Queens, New York, where, unfortunately, pets are not allowed, so she frequently borrows her friends' dogs. She has published many books for young readers, writing as both Clare Hutton and Clarissa Hutton. Maike Plenzke studied illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences Department of Design. She currently lives in Berlin with her partner and their dog. In her studio full of plants, Maike loves to create colorful illustrations for book covers, magazines, comic books, and other exciting projects. Allison Steinfeld is the illustrator of the Wait! What? series and the Kid Legends series.
