Parker, Katia Florencio: - Katia Florencio Parker was born in Monte Alegre, Bahia, Brazil, in 1954. In Brazil, she attended two colleges: First, in 1973 she attended for a year, Faculdade de Educação de Feira de Santana studying Portuguese and English Languages, Then, next year in 1974, she transferred to another town in another college, where she studied for 2 1/2 years Portuguese and French languages. She earned a degree as a Portuguese and French Teacher for Elementary and Middle Schools. While she was in college, at the same time she managed to teach French and Portuguese in middle grades in a private school. Later on, she worked as a Customer Representative and as a Cashier at 'Banco Brasileiro de Descontos, ' the largest private financial institution in Brazil. Then, later she worked as a Secretary in a Helicopter Company where she met her American husband. In 1984, they had a child, a cute little boy. Two years later, after her husband's work was done, they moved to Lafayette in Louisiana, USA, to a new and cozy house. By 1987, the couple had their second child, another cute and smart little boy. By 1996, the family moved to Georgia. From 2005 to 2009, Katia attended Georgia State University in Atlanta and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Her life is the inspiration for this story.
