This book is packed with black and white pictures of the musical stars of the 1940s and 1950s, including the big band leaders, rock and roll groups, jazz bands and 'crooners', together with lists of their best-known songs. The book is intended to stimulate long-term memories and conversation in dementia sufferers. Musical memories are some of the most enduring, but dementia sufferers are often unable to name the tunes or artists that they liked years ago. This book will therefore help carers identify what music a patient might like to listen to on CD or an internet streaming service. The book does not make any reference to dementia or anything that could cause alarm or embarrassment.
