The fortieth-anniversary volume of Muqarnas begins with a preface by Gülru Necipoğlu, addressing the historical trajectory of this groundbreaking publication and its sister series, Muqarnas Supplements, against the backdrop of a changing scholarly landscape, particularly in the last decade.
