Few methods of examining the roots of antisemitism are more revealing than the study of folklore and stereotypes. This is critical to understanding why the Holocaust happened, and why we are witnessing a resurgence of antisemitism today. The author explores folktales using a cinematic construct of the Holocaust as one part horror story, and the other part hero and superhero story. Longstanding beliefs in monsters, angels, and the supernatural are discussed.

Kitmacher, Ira Wesley: - Ira Wesley Kitmacher is a professor, attorney, and retired senior U.S. government executive. In addition to this book, he is a published author of books on American Pacific Northwest history and folklore. He is also a member of The History Writers Association. In this book, he combines his interests in Jewish history, his family's story, folklore, the supernatural, horror and superhero stories, and movies. In researching, he was greatly affected by the brutality, outright inhumanity, raw courage, and hope that took place. It has caused him to examine his own Jewishness. In his career, he rose to the highest levels of the U.S. government and academia and brings the skills he developed in research, organization, and storytelling to this book.
