Aunt Betty's words "You are Indian, be proud" begin a lifelong quest for author Deborah Clairmont (Medicine Prayer Woman), as she takes her first steps in learning about the ways of her Native American heritage. To walk a spiritual journey with author Deborah Clairmont, we will have to open our minds to the unexplainable phenomena along the way. We will journey through a true-life story of gripping near-death experiences and explore a connection with the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and Sitting Bull that will expound the mind. In the summer of 1989, we will travel to a Lakota Sun Dance Ceremony on the Green Grass Reservation in South Dakota. Deborah Clairmont walks us down the prepuberal path of her childhood, along the way we will meet several Medicine Men and tribal traditions that connect us to the spirit world to help us understand what it is like to be a Native American descendant that did not grow up on an Indian Reservation.
