Marking the 50th anniversary of the 1976 release of 'Go For Broke', an 80-track, 6CD box set retrospective from singer/songwriter Iain Matthews. Featuring 2026 expanded versions of his two albums made for Columbia Records during the latter half of the 1970s, 'Go For Broke' and 'Hit And Run'. Plus two live performances from the legendary US music venue Ebbets Field in Denver, Colorado with his bands Motion and The Falling Rock Band. With a wealth of previously unissued material from Iain's archives, including a newly-compiled CD of live performances, 'Columbia Years Live 1979-2022'. Still making albums and playing live to this day, Iain Matthews' career in the music business now spans some 60 years and can rightly be described as legendary. An original member of the folk rock band Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1969, he left to form his own band Matthews Southern Comfort, topping the UK charts with a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock'. In the 1970s, as well as recording solo albums for the Vertigo, Elektra, Columbia and Rockburgh labels, he was also a founder member of Plainsong alongside guitarist and singer Andy Roberts. Based around their 1972 debut album, 'In Search Of Amelia Earhart', Plainsong's 6CD box set 'Following Amelia' can also be found on Cherry Red Records.
