Captive of the dystopian Ministry is Maryja, a Servile bound to the oppressive Schopenhauer household since childhood. Her life of banal servitude is forever changed one night when she discovers a sinuous creature emerging from the floorboards of her room, supposedly eradicated from the Continent long ago. Haunted by cryptic visions and long-buried memories, Maryja embarks on a harrowing journey of self-discovery that will test her sanity and reshape her identity. Driven by primal instincts, delving deeper into the core of the Ministry, she uncovers horrifying truths that force her to confront the darkest corners of her own psyche, the surreal landscape of betrayal behind her metamorphosis. Things that have long been hidden begin to resurface, and Maryja finds herself entangled in a web of secrets and lies that threaten to unravel the fragile fabric of her existence.
