Two Marsh Tacky horses trot to a gate at the end of the driveway to wait for feeding time. The bay horse, named Ringo, turns to his companion, Jiffy. He nuzzles her shoulder with his muzzle, and asks, "Do you think someone will come?" the dun-colored mare stares down the narrow dirt road. "They always come." She lowers her head and thinks, not so sure.

Little do they know that their new family is already heading their way.

Eleven-year-old twins, Bennie and Beth, are moving from the big city of Atlanta, Georgia, to South Carolina's Lowcountry. There they will team up with Ringo and Jiffy for non-stop adventures, making new friends along the way. While Bennie and Beth learn to care for them, the horses' favorite pastime is to tell each other stories about the arrival of the Marsh Tacky horses to South Carolina and how they contributed to development of the Lowlands.

From wildlife to wild weather, Bennie, Beth, Ringo and Jiffy share an exciting journey that ends in the best ever grand finale. The rare Marsh Tacky horses 'sho nuff' live up to their recognition as South Carolina Heritage Horses.
