A world class pianist, Frank has played Chopin in Poland, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky in Moscow, Schumann and Beethoven in Germany and Cervantes and Lecuona in Cuba, and has received countless awards during his professional artistic career that has spanned over 50 years. This vintage 1960 album, recorded when Fernandez was a mere 16 years old, was one of the first recordings to expose his rare genius to the world. Performed on two pianos, this session finds the young maestro performing Cuban classics as well as American popular music and displays an expertise that ranges far beyond his years.
