Plutarch: - Plutarch (c. 46-c. 120 CE) was a Greek historian, biographer, and essayist born in Chaeronea in Boeotia. Educated in philosophy, he travelled widely within the Roman Empire and later served as a priest at Delphi. His Parallel Lives and Moralia secured his reputation as one of antiquity's most influential moral writers. Rather than compiling strict chronologies, Plutarch sought to illuminate character, believing that small actions and personal traits often revealed more than grand historical events. His works have shaped Western historical and ethical thought for nearly two millennia.
