This text recounts the life of Euphemios, who was dedicated to God by his parents, Paul and Dionysia, after a divine vision promised them a child. Born in 377 AD during a time of persecution against the Orthodox faith, Euphemios's birth coincided with significant events that brought comfort to the churches. His mother fulfilled her vow by dedicating him to the church, where he was nurtured by notable figures like Bishop Otrius. The text emphasizes Euphemios's early education in Sacred Scripture and his association with future archbishops, setting the stage for his spiritual journey.
