Albertano, Linda J.: - Poetry, performance art, music, film, and short stories-Linda could do it all. She was honored across all of these artistic disciplines, yet she maintained a humble, loving personality that drew people to her. This first volume of six is filled with photos of Linda in action, alongside newspaper articles and interviews that capture exactly who she was and how powerfully she expressed herself to audiences.She was also the love of my life. We spent fifty-five wondrous years together, from the time we were twenty-five years old. We met on a cold, rainy, windy night at 6:15 PM in early February 1968, and remained inseparable until she left me late in 2022, breaking both of our hearts. Linda J. Albertano has been a champion of women's issues and rights throughout her career. Despite a challenging childhood in foster homes, she became an award-winning poet, performer, and musician and went on to co-found the poetry group "Nearly Fatal Women." The City of Los Angeles awarded her the rare title of Poet Diva. She hoped to be a voice for women, and for women to have a voice. Sadly, Linda passed away in 2022 and her husband, Frank Lutz has compiled her archives and poetry of almost 60 years for us to cherish. Linda was tall, beautiful, brilliant, gentle, kind, and generous. Though she endured a rough childhood in foster homes from age eight to sixteen, she went on to become an honors student in both high school and college, earning multiple scholarships. Her creative reach was vast: she wrote songs recorded by Linda Ronstadt and great blues musicians like Taj Mahal and Steve Gillette, and she collaborated on films with director Anne Bancroft. She even mastered West African music, learning to play the Kora and Bolon with the great Prince Diabate. Above all, she loved poetry and performance art-passions that garnered her acclaim across three continents. In these pages, dear reader, you will see exactly why.Lutz, Frank A.: - Frank is co-author of the book On the Life of Linda J. Albertano: From Trauma to High Art. He met Linda on a cold, rainy winter Monday night in February 1968 while hitchhiking to his manager's home in Hollywood Hills, CA. Cherry Soup was their first meal together. Linda and Frank were married twice and the second time, after 55 years together, was when she was in UCLA Hospital on September 6th, 2022. It was the happiest moment of both of their lives! Sadly, Linda passed away on September 13, 2022. She introduced him to UCLA, where she was studying film and performance art. Frank graduated from UCLA, Summa Cum Laude, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received a Graduate Fellowship in Philosophy. He became a Council member at the UCLA Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies and remains so today. Since 2002, he has been a Distinguished Scholar at the Vatican for his research into an event occurring in 1279 AD. He possesses a Vatican passport and is called Dottore Lutz in the Vatican Secret Archives. Frank also has a commercial pilot's license, and FAA pilot instructor certificates. Currently, he's diving into the science of quantum mechanics and exploring ALC (After Life Communications) with Linda. He is a poet, narrative writer, and successful business owner in Venice, California.
