Let Freedom Ring Teacher's Guide is divided into twelve chapters. The number of class sessions you devote to each chapter is dependent upon whether you plan to complete the textbook in one semester or whether you have a full year to cover the material. Count the number of class sessions available and divide the material accordingly.

We encourage you to plan your lessons in five-minute to ten-minute seg-ments. A segment of discussion can be followed by an activity in the text; a seg-ment of reading can be followed by a mini-lesson on an individual line in the text; a segment of classroom dramatics can be followed by an examination of a primary source document. This constant alternation makes for a lively classroom atmosphere and typically heightens student interest and response.
