I was partly raised in Hersey, Michigan, just a stone's throw from Idlewild where famous people went to play. My mother still sparkles with delighted disquiet when she tells me stories about dancing at the Paradise Club as a young girl. I came back to live not far from there after retiring from a Dean's position at Kellogg Community College - one of the loves of my life. The others are my family, cats, scuba and sky diving.
