Learning How Children Worship

"Learning How Children Worship" details what motivates children to worship and how to teach children of all ages the principles of worship. This leadership text is written to help teachers, parents, and other adults find answers to their specific problems in guiding children to worship. The author considers what worship is and lists its various aspects; what may motivate or help children to want to worship; the materials of worship; some principles of worship and its language; and worship at home. She defines and illustrates spontaneous worship and suggests how a leader may plan worship for children of different ages. The various times and places where worship may occur are described. The worshipping community is considered and resources are listed. A helpful bibliography is also included. Grace W. McGavran has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Butler University and a Master of Arts degree from Boston University. Most of her work focuses on children, with an additional focus on religion.
