Man dies from laughing while reading joke book; author apologizes to family

"I was incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Ernesto Papadopolous. I really didn't think my jokes were that funny," says author Daniel Ben Abraham.

Mr. Papadopolous passed away on October 27th from heart and breathing complications, his family says, during a laughing fit while reading Ben Abraham's book.

"He was in pretty okay health, a little belly, but okay" says Mrs. Papadopolous, Ernesto's wife of 33 years, repeating over and over, "I can no believe he's really gone." "I never forget. I was making dinner. He was just in his favorite chair reading the diet book, laughing a little here and there, everything fine. And then he started cracking up like I had never seen him before."

When Mrs. Papadopolous felt something was wrong, she called the paramedics. "He dropped the book, and he was laughing so hard he couldn't speak, and I thought 'this is unusual'".

His oldest daughter Sofia recalls the tragic events, "papa was laughing and crying at the same time, saying 'no, no, is too much' and then he fell on the floor."

The book is a humorous diet parody, a cross between diet and health motivation and a sarcastic farce about the challenges of weight loss, and Author Daniel Ben Abraham's fourth publication. Ben Abraham says he feels terrible, and apologizes profusely at every mention of Ernesto, his wife, and four kids. "I wanted people to be entertained and live a healthier lifestyle. I wrote 'Laugh Your Butt Off, Once And For All' thinking humor would be a great way to communicate the message. I never thought anything like this would happen."
