L'Altra have been quietly and insistently making music together for a more than a decade, with the band pushing through the up and down trails of daily life, line-up changes, break-ups and make ups. It's been nearly 7 years since L'Altra core duo, Lindsay Anderson and Joseph Desler Costa, released their critically acclaimed album Different Days. The band has again resurfaced this year with L'Altra signing to Saint Marie Records and the release of a deluxe edition of Telepathic. The deluxe Telepathic is the version of album the band always envisioned making; with the additional tracks and remixes further complementing and completing the 'story' of the Album. On Telepathic, L'Altra's take on indie pop is a gentle wash of hushed guitars, rolling pianos, subtle electronics, and measured rhythm all supporting Lindsay and Joe's call and response vocals. Telepathic finds L'Altra aiming somewhere between their big inspirations: Fleetwood Mac and Cocteau Twins and further refining their baroque pop balladry with a fine cast of collaborators including Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), Josh Abrams (Bonnie Prince Billy), Marc Hellner (Pulseprogramming) and drummer Charles Rumback (Colorlist). And by the way, L'Altra translates to 'the other woman' in any number of romance languages...
