About Author Jen Angeli

Jen Angeli grew up on Oahu, living in Kalihi until age four, then Pearl City until age eighteen. A graduate of St. Francis High School in the mid-'80s, Jen pursued writing courses in college and earned a certificate in screenwriting from Cal State Fullerton. This is her first novel. Like the main character, the author was raised with a strong appreciation for Hawaiian culture and the islands' diversity. Her Hawaiian/Portuguese grandmother taught her how to catch, prepare, and eat food from the ocean, sharing stories of a simpler time in the islands and life growing up on a ranch in Molokai.

Published by Sojourn Publishing in May 2017, this paperback edition offers readers an authentic window into Hawaiian history through the eyes of a relatable young protagonist on an extraordinary adventure.
