Details: Curtis Ousley (born Curtis Montgomery, 2/7/34-8/13/71) performed under the stage name King Curtis. He was an American saxophonist known for rhythm & blues, rock & roll, soul, blues, funk and soul jazz. He was a bandleader, band member, session musician, musical director, and record producer. King Curtis had numerous charting albums on the Atco label in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This two-fer contains the albums Instant Groove (1969), featuring Duane Allman and Get Ready (1970) featuring Eric Clapton & Delaney Bramlett.
