It's a simple assignment. Jim Bennett needs to get an okay for a post-mortem autopsy to confirm that Frank Osborn really died from a heart attack, and not the silicosis that he suffered from and that was covered by his insurance. However, the local mortician won't okay it. And the county coroner won't allow it. And the sheriff is definitely against it. That leaves Lucy, the man's widow. Even though it means a nice payout to her, she isn't excited about having her husband's body exhumed either. Still, she reluctantly agrees. Then she is accidentally shot while standing at her kitchen window. And the next bullet is aimed at Bennett.
