Willie Jones III Plays the Max Roach Songbook

Willie Jones III, one of the most celebrated drummers in jazz, leads an allstar band on his latest CD performing the music of legendary drummer Max Roach. Jones and his group featuring Jeremy Pelt (trumpet), Steve Davis (trombone), Stacy Dillard (saxophones), Eric Reed (piano) and Dezron Douglas (bass) performed Roach's arrangements of St. Louis Blues, Daahoud and Joy Spring in front of sold out audiences at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola in New York City. This CD is the live recording from those memorable sets.
