Jards Macalé reaches the age of 80 not only as an established musician, but as a reference of courage, integrity, and artistic and behavioral freedom. He is an artist who has never bowed to the cultural industry or accepted the standardization of the aesthetics in force.
"I do what I do, with whom I can and how I can, escaping from the general pasteurization that, with very few exceptions, is currently done in the music of Brazil."
The collection Cadernos de Música presents an essay on his life and work along with an exclusive interview (2011-2021) and his discography.
