Description
This book was written by a hospice nurse and her client to facilitate the exploration of feelings and emotions of children who have experienced any type of loss, ranging from a beloved family member or friend to a family pet.
In the vast spectrum of human emotions, those of love and grief are experienced by most of us. They are often understandably intertwined. For instance, when a loved one passes away, those left behind experience grief. Children as well as adults experience the emotion of grief. Even the death of a pet can elicit grief.
There are five stages of grief that are generally agreed upon. These stages, or feelings, are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. There is no particular order in which each stage may emerge, nor does any one stage always appear with any individual.
It's "See You Later" not "Goodbye" is a story for children as told through the loving relationship between two dogs, Ollie and Oliver. It is a story of love, loss and coping as Ollie finds his way through grief with the illness and death of his grandpup.
