This is the story of Ernie, a sweet puppy taken from the love and comfort of his mom and siblings to live with a family who is not ready or able to be dog owners.
After some long, lonely days locked in a cage where no one seems to hear his cries from loneliness and with fear of the abusive man owner, he is loaded up in a car and dropped off at the dog pound to live. He is put in a room he shares with another puppy named Butch who becomes his first friend.
Butch teaches Ernie about the pound, its workers, and the dogs who live there. Day after day, week after week, he waits for the chance to go home with one of the humans walking by his room. One wonderful day, he is finally spotted by a nice lady human who rescues and adopts him. She becomes his very own human, and she takes him to live happily ever after in his forever home.
