Willems, Nadine: - Nadine Willems received a PhD from the University of Oxford in 2015 and is now Associate Professor of History at the University of East Anglia in the UK. She is an intellectual and cultural historian of modern Japan, interested in the social tensions that emerged during the country's process of modernisation. Her research examines agrarian movements, anarchism, and the literature of dissidence and identity within marginal groups in the context of Japan's imperialist expansion.
