Kids love to ask why things are the way they are. But a lot of adults don't have an answer to one of their most common questions: why is the sky blue?

It turns out, there's some pretty complicated science that goes into making our sky the color it is! Everything from wave lengths and dipoles to the Raleigh and Mie light-scattering principles come into play. Is the Sky Always Blue? simplifies that complex science for young minds. Using clear, easy to understand language and bright, engaging pictures, the book gives every child the answers they've been waiting for.

A little Glow-of-Light, the narrator, walks kids through the science at play in our atmosphere, explaining why the sky can be so many different colors from the time we wake up until the end of the day. The beautiful artwork and charming story will have even the least scientific kid rattling off the secrets of the sky. Meanwhile, a glossary digs into the scientific terms behind the phenomenon, providing age-appropriate insight for every child and their parents.

Kaloustian, Talin: - Talin Kaloustian worked as a system engineer for over thirty-two years before retiring. Despite having a degree in Aerospace Engineering, she didn't know exactly why the sky was blue before she wrote this book. As a curious explorer of scientific phenomena, she researched the question and was surprised to discover there was no simple answer. . .so she wrote her own! In her free time, Talin loves to study the sky, cook, and eat healthy meals, along with weightlifting and going for long trail hikes. Talin lives in Carson City, Nevada, with her best friend of more than twenty-three years.

Janice Prey Wolfe is a professional San Francisco Bay Area artist, illustrator and portraitist who specializes in watercolor, theatrical scenic design and scenic painting. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and continues to include much of the science and art she learned in her projects. With the goal of fostering respectful awareness of our surroundings, she has continued to add to her "Scenic California" series of paintings and prints. Ms Wolfe illustrated the children's picture book "Rockrhydin" published by Fern Forest Enterprises, and has truly enjoyed working with Talin on "Is the Sky Always Blue?". They are already working on the sequel!
