Two psychologists. Two approaches. Lives threatened and permanently altered.

Psychologist Alexander Hoffman notices an old rival on television one morning: Antony Santa Maria, promoting his new book and therapy method for men. Faced with his jealousy of Antony, Alex struggles with feelings of impotence- as a man, a father, a husband, and as a therapist.

Desperate to make a difference professionally, Alex enters his chronically-depressed, suicidal patient's life through chat rooms, rationalizing his trangressions in the name of greater good. Yet these attempts do not help Alex, whose wife grows more distant with the absence of their oldest daughter and whose younger daughter brings home a new beau, one of her dad's patients, an arsonist whose mother died in a house fire he set.

Antony and Alex find their lives overlapping as they contend with the tragic outcome of their own behavior.
