Staff, Ian: - I am an Electrical Training Consultant for a training company in Hull by the name of Humberside Offshore Training Association Ltd (HOTA), Malmo Road. Before my fifteen or so years at HOTA as a trainer/assessor I spent thirty-eight years with BP, seven of those years as their Instrument/Electrical Training Officer in charge of all instrument and electrical training in their training complex where I obtained my training and assessing qualifications. HOTA have the franchise to several courses under the heading of 'CompEx' which is a globally recognised, competency based, set of training packages with JTL Ltd as the national body in overall control of the CompEx Scheme. I carry out some training and assessments in a range of CompEx courses.
