In the Summers

For siblings Eva (Sasha Calle) and Violeta (Lio Mehiel), contact with their addict father Vicente (Residente) while growing up had been limited to their summer visitations at his Las Cruces, New Mexico home. The ebbs and flows of a difficult familial bond, as shown via four separate trips over a 20-year span, are tellingly laid out in writer-director Alessandra Lacorazza's semi-autobiographical opus.
