Leaning on one another as they scraped by, widow Bea Pullman (Claudette Colbert) and domestic Delilah Johnson (Louise Beavers) managed to parlay a family pancake recipe into a thriving restaurant concern. The success spared neither heartache from their maturing daughters, as Bea's (Rochelle Hudson) made a play for her new man (Warren William), and Delilah's (Fredi Washington) steadfastly denied her heritage. First filming of the Fannie Hurst novel co-stars Ned Sparks, Alan Hale. 110 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH); interviews; theatrical trailer; essay.
Starring: Claudette Colbert, Warren William, Rochelle Hudson, Ned Sparks, Louise Beavers, Fredi Washington, Juanita Quigley, Alan Hale, Henry Armetta, Wyndham Standing
