I.M.: A Memoir by Isaac Mizrahi

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Isaac Mizrahi offers a poignant, candid, and touching look back on his life in this intimate memoir. From his sheltered Syrian Jewish Orthodox upbringing to becoming one of fashion's most recognizable names, Mizrahi's story reveals the person behind the public persona.

A Fashion Icon's Personal Journey

Growing up gay in a traditional family, Isaac possessed unique talents that propelled him into the fashion world and eventually into celebrity circles. His memoir features encounters with cultural luminaries including Richard Avedon, Audrey Hepburn, Anna Wintour, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Meryl Streep, and Oprah Winfrey.

Raw and Honest Storytelling

This memoir goes beyond the glamour. Isaac delves into his lifelong battles with weight, insomnia, and depression. He chronicles what it meant to be an openly gay man during a homophobic era and documents witnessing the AIDS epidemic's devastating effects on his community.

More Than a Fashion Story

Brimming with intimate details and Mizrahi's signature wit, I.M. reveals not just the glamour of his years in fashion, but the grit beneath the glitz. The narrative weaves together memorable stories from both in and out of the spotlight, illuminating deep emotional truths about identity, creativity, and resilience.
