If These Walls Could Talk: Milwaukee Brewers - Stories from the Dugout, Locker Room, and Press Box

Now fully revised and updated for 2023!

This insider account chronicles the Milwaukee Brewers from the legendary Suds Series of 1982 through Christian Yelich's MVP season in 2018. Bill Schroeder, longtime Brewers color commentator and former catcher, delivers unfiltered stories from inside the organization that only someone with his unique perspective can provide.

Behind-the-Scenes Access to Brewers History

From Bambi's Bombers of the late 1970s to Harvey's Wallbangers of the early 1980s, this book captures the defining eras of Milwaukee Brewers baseball. Schroeder provides detailed accounts of what happens in the equipment and training rooms, the organized chaos of batting practice, and the reality of traveling with a Major League Baseball team.

The book includes memorable anecdotes that showcase the human side of professional baseball, including the infamous incident when Steve Sparks injured his shoulder attempting to rip a phone book in half after listening to a motivational speaker.

Written by Milwaukee Brewers Insiders

Bill Schroeder has served as the Brewers color commentator since 1995. His eight-season career in the big leagues with the Brewers and California Angels included a career-best .332 batting average in 1987. A Baltimore native raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Schroeder earned All-State honors at West Windsor Plainsboro High School and led Clemson University to Atlantic Coast Conference titles in 1978 and 1979.

Drew Olson is a Milwaukee-area sports radio host and former senior editor at OnMilwaukee.com. His reporting career includes work for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, ESPN Wisconsin, Sporting News, Baseball America, and Sports Illustrated. A Menomonee Falls native, Olson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The foreword is written by Bob Uecker, who has broadcast Brewers games since 1971 and is known for his exceptional sense of humor.
