This is my life story and how it's been a series of challenges and struggles just to survive. But that's nothing compared to trying to survive the actions and abuse inflicted by your own family that had started at a young age and has continued into my 60's. The scars left behind each time always left me dwelling on if only, if only things would or could have been done differently to avoid the nightmares.
Always desperate for answers to why our parents seemed like strangers to us. And when I finally went looking into their past and through my research into my ancestry I have come to find out that abuse and tragedy stems back generations. And when I dug even deeper I uncovered a host of family secrets that cast a dark shadow over our family and still wonder if only things had been done differently. Who knows what the outcome would have been not only for them but for their kids as well.
