The first three chapters offer synthetic mappings of the field, its emerging methodologies and its social characteristics. Chapter 1. HUMANITIES TO DIGITAL HUMANITIES explores emerging forms of transmedia research and the growing importance of prototyping, experimentation and developing tools and platforms for current knowledge in the humanities. Chapter 2. EMERGING METHODS AND GENRES maps new ways of doing things using digital tools and platforms that extend traditional scientific practices or invent entirely new ones (either new fields of inquiry or new models of dissemination and practice): the forms that scientific knowledge can take in the digital environment, models of training, which become predominant and the units of the argument of which they are composed.
