He was then ordained to the Gospel Ministry on May 20, 1983, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, under the leadership of Reverend S.L. Whitney. He founded and organized the Spirit Field Baptist Church in 1980 with approximately 100 members. In 1992, Pastor Roberson was called to serve as the Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Southfield, MI. God envisioned him with a seven-point plan that would assist the church with its growth.
