For Ohio teen Ruth Avery (Jessica Barden), life in a dying factory town-with an addict mom (Pamela Adlon) in prison-didn't present a lot of options. She and her brother Blaze (Gus Halper) turn to hustling scrap metal to get by, and as her innate smarts entice yard manager Hank (Austin Amelio) to school her in the operation's shadier aspects, she might not be able to find her way out.
