Henry Memoirs of a Killer - Hardcover

In the shadowed hills of 1930s Appalachia, one boy learns that silence can be both a refuge and a weapon.

Henry: Memoirs of a Killer is a dark Southern Gothic coming-of-age novel that explores trauma, survival, and the quiet moral fractures formed under cruelty. Raised beneath the iron grip of his brutal uncle after the mysterious disappearance of his beloved Aunt Beth, young Henry grows up in a world where tenderness is punished and trust is dangerous.

With no safe place to speak, Henry turns inward. Through sketches and words hidden in his notebooks, he makes sense of a life shaped by fear, isolation, and loss. But when buried truths begin to surface and violence closes in, Henry is forced to confront the darkness surrounding him and the one taking root within himself.

A haunting and unflinching portrait of isolation, resilience, and identity, Henry Memoirs of a Killer is a literary exploration of how violence shapes a child, and how compassion can persist even in the most unforgiving places.
