Price-Tobler, Alyse: - Dr Alyse Price-Tobler, PhD, MCAP, is a PACFA-registered clinical psychotherapist, specialist trauma clinician, researcher, clinical supervisor, author and international speaker based in NSW, Australia. She has more than 30 years of experience across mental health, disability, community services, emergency response, homelessness and complex trauma.Her clinical work supports adult survivors, adolescents, targeted parents and families affected by child psychological abuse related to parental alienation, familial abduction, estrangement, coercive control, attachment disruption, familicide, homicide, suicide and intergenerational relational trauma. She also provides clinical supervision and specialist consultation.Her twin doctoral research at the University of the Sunshine Coast examined adult survivors of severe parental alienation abuse and the mental health practitioners who work with them. This research provided the empirical foundation for the Healing Qualia Treatment Protocol(c), a specialist, phase-based clinical framework for adolescent and adult survivors of child psychological abuse related to parental alienation, familial abduction, estrangement and associated family-system harms.Her Master of Clinical Psychotherapy research examined the experiences of women living with severe and persistent mental illness while experiencing primary homelessness on the streets of Sydney. This work strengthened her commitment to relational dignity, psychological safety and respectful support for people often left without appropriate treatment.Dr Price-Tobler previously served as Macarthur District Area Manager for the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW, now One Door Mental Health, where she established and managed specialist mental health Disability Employment Services in South West Sydney. Her broader work has included senior case management, vocational training, workplace health and safety, first aid, critical incident counselling and group psychotherapy facilitation.Alongside her clinical career, Dr Price-Tobler has served for more than 20 years as a volunteer with the NSW State Emergency Service across the Camden, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Units. Her experience includes storm and flood response, road crash rescue, flood boat operations, bush and land search, rescue from heights and depths, disaster first aid, welfare, training and emergency management. She was deployed for three weeks to the 1997 Thredbo landslide disaster, participated in major flood and bushfire operations and achieved the highest recorded mark on her final NSW SES rescue examination as a Primary Rescue Officer.Her service has been recognised through the SES Certificate of Honour for Rescue Services: Thredbo Landslide 1997, NSW State Rescue Board accreditation, the NSW SES 10-Year and 15-Year Long Service Medals and the National Emergency Medal for service during the 2019-2020 Australian bushfires.In 2023, the University of the Sunshine Coast presented Dr Price-Tobler with its Community Volunteer of the Year Award and Student Leadership Award. She was also nominated for the Dean's Award.She is the author of Disrupting the Intergenerational Trauma Cycle of High-Conflict Divorce, Navigating the Maze During Treatment of Adult Survivors of Child Psychological Abuse and Healing Qualia. She has contributed chapters to collaborative publications and presented internationally on adult survivor recovery, parental alienation, familial abduction and specialist clinical treatment.Her work brings together doctoral research, specialist clinical practice, lived experience, frontline emergency service and a commitment to restoring dignity, identity and hope for survivors of profound relational harm.
