Mr. Halff captures patterns of daily life among Hawaiʻi residents, as well as the experiences of visitors. He portrays the good-natured humor and love of the land that distinguish the people of Hawai'i. This volume is a captivating journey to secluded and well-known corners of the islands, and a spiritual odyssey that offers perceptions and insights that delight and refresh the reader.
Since 1972, Bro Halff's artistic career has encompassed poetry, painting, and sculpture. His watercolors depict, with bright colors and bold composition, rural, urban and small-town America. His artworks have been shown in galleries throughout the United States, and his limited-edition books have been collected by rare book libraries. His recent books include volumes of paintings and writings inspired by California, North Dakota, and Hawaii. Mr. Halff lives on Kauaʻi, in Hawaiʻi. In San Diego, he maintains an art gallery and Simpler Gifts Press, which publishes artist's books, limited-edition prints, and art cards.
