This album does not mark a radical departure from his previous two records, as the essential elements are still here. The bare acoustic prettiness of his debut SON and the handcrafted pop cleverness of Jeff Hanson have been developed further. And, like it's predecessors, this release contains a set of pop-music symphonies, each one of which could feel like it could be the record's single.
