There is so much more to grief than just stages. Grief is an awkward, painful, and chaotic journey through an emotional, spiritual, psychological, physical, and intellectual roller coaster that can take us to places within our interior that we didn't know even existed. So often we feel lost, not only from trying to cope with the loss of a loved one, abilities, or lifestyle but struggle to find the best way to maneuver through all the side effects, complications and emotional turmoil inside the grief journey.
Grieving with God offers a spiritual pathway through the journey of grief by exploring those moments that erupt during the grief experience and how to work through them by offering helpful advice, insight, wisdom, and interventions that are meant to bring comfort. The deeper hope is your recovery from the pain of loss through God's grace and God's word and that you experience the fullness of healing through God's compassion and love.
If you don't believe in God, this book may not be for you. But then and again, the topics addressing issues that arise during grief might be helpful and a source of comfort to you in a humanistic way. For those of you who are not sure about where God is in your grief journey, or you are mad at God and question why God took your loved one or why you are lost, you are offered a different perspective. For those of you who believe in a compassionate and loving God, you will find comfort in these pages. At the end of each chapter, a verse in Scripture is provided, offering God's own handwritten assurance that God is present and is with you every step of the way.
