Rabbi Barry Leff was born in Heidelberg, Germany, grew up in New York and Denver, and lived in California for many years. He has lived in Thailand, Iran, and Canada. Now a dual Israeli-American citizen, he makes his home in Jerusalem, where he hopes to finally "settle down" with his wife and as many of his five daughters that will join him there. He has a Doctorate in Business Administration from Golden Gate University, and received his Master's in Rabbinic Studies and ordination as a rabbi from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles. He's a flight instructor, SCUBA Divemaster, black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and enjoys skiing, yoga, running, sailing, and playing the piano. After a 20 year career as an entrepreneur and executive in Silicon Valley, he had a nine year Sabbatical from the business world as he pursued rabbinic studies and worked as a pulpit rabbi. Once again a business executive, he has not lost his passion for rabbinic work, which he fulfills as a human rights activist and teacher, engaged in ecumenical activity.
