John M. Peca, (December 8, 1943 - November 9, 2014) was a native of Batavia, New York. In February 1979 he became the first ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Austin and faithfully served for 35 years retiring from full-time ministry on May 25, 2014. He shared his life with his wife of 42 years, Yolanda, his two daughters, their husbands, and three beautiful grandsons.
