Anita Hammer is Senior Lecturer in sociology of work, University of Essex, UK, and a research collaborator with the international network on Globalisation and Work, CRIMT, Canada. Immanuel Ness is Professor of Political Science, Brooklyn College, City University of New York and Visiting Professor of Sociology at University of Johannesburg. Ness is author of books and articles on labour including Organizing Insurgency: Workers Movements in the Global South, The Oxford Handbook of Economic Imperialism, and Migration in a World of Inequality (2023).
