Stewart, Richard J.: - Richard grew up on the remote east coast of New Zealand's North Island, a spectacular place for outdoor adventures and creativity. Surrounded by nature, he developed a strong sense of curiosity and independence from an early age.After finishing school, Richard completed an electrical apprenticeship. At the same time, he nurtured a deep passion for flying, which inspired him to dream big and seek greater adventure once his apprenticeship was completed.Many of his teachers were former servicemen from World War II who had flown aircraft such as the Mosquito and Hawker Hurricane during the Battle of Britain. Some had also participated in special operations carried out by Mosquito squadrons during the war.
