? This 62 track collection features in chronological order all the 45s that Billy Fury released from 1959 to his last Decca release in 1966. Originally from Liverpool, a young Ronald Wycherley grabbed his chance on a Larry Parnes show (who soon rechristened him). Fury was unique amongst British rockers of the time in that, unlike Cliff Richard, he wrote a lot of his own material. Always a fantastic and popular live performer, Fury's chart career took off when he covered Tony Orlando's 'Halfway To Paradise'; he then went on a run of several UK Top 5 hits. It was only the emergence of fellow Liverpudlians The Beatles that gradually brought his big hits to an end. Always plagued with poor health, Fury died in 1983 aged just 43.
