Frances Josephine Danz, RSCJ: 1910-1994 - Paperback

McKinlay, Rscj Jane: - A San Franciscan by birth, northern Californian by upbringing, Jane McKinlay, the only child of Beatrice and Edwin McKinlay, entered the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1949. Shortly after this-rather fresh from the novitiate-she met Mother Frances Danz, who had come to the Bay Area for medical help for her hearing loss. Jane was charmed by Frances's refreshing personality. This is Jane's only first-hand memory of Frances. Having made her final vows in 1958, for thirty years Jane taught English, history, social studies, Latin, mathematics, theology to students in Sacred Heart Network schools on the West Coast. A decade coordinating the San Francisco archdiocesan ministry with separated and divorced Catholics followed. Then came a nine-month program of training as a spiritual director. Her most recent three decades were in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met with directees and led spiritual growth groups for adults. Now at the RSCJ retirement center in Atherton, California, she has opportunities to lead groups of Sacred Heart parents looking for the experience of vital contact with God. In addition, she cherishes a precious, wide circle of friends of all ages and differing religious persuasions.
